Working with Instagram influencers is a collaborative endeavor – you both need to be authentic and passionate about the product to properly fulfill their role as an influencer. Otherwise, the audience doesn’t engage and your services or products won’t experience the outcome you’re looking for.

Ecommerce businesses have lots of tools at their disposal but a tailored and meticulously-researched content strategy will always be key for gaining traction on Instagram. Building a community around your brand is king while using the tools available on Instagram can definitely help you succeed.

What advice would you give to a new business that wants to gain and grow its paid sponsorships?
Quality beats quantity everytime. It can be really tempting to choose influencers with the most followers – but that doesn’t necessarily mean that your business is aligned with that influencer’s following or your customer’s behavior. Do your research on influencers and their audiences and try to form creative but natural partnerships to ensure any content that goes out is well-received.
How do you think Influencer Marketing will grow among small businesses in the near future?
Thanks to the internet and, more specifically, the power of social media, businesses can get up and running with fewer costs. Influencer marketing is generally the first thing to be considered these days before even thinking about securing PR coverage with older media like print magazines and newspapers. In fact, it often comes secondary to influencer campaigns. Influencer marketing will be the number one outreach method for small business startups.
